“All students learn differently, and as educators, it is our responsibility to meet the broadest set of students we possibly can by Fostering Education through innovation, collaboration, community, and equal opportunity.”

Fostering Education Through Innovation

In addition to classroom instruction, innovation is the backbone to growing from one level of academic success to the next. To me, innovation is conscious of tradition, yet tries new approaches both small and large. I believe we must trust each other in order to work towards new ideas, support each other during change and tough times and celebrate the successes along the way.

Fostering Education Through Collaboration

I believe the partnership between parent and teacher is one of the most essential elements to improving a student’s drive to achieve and that without parent involvement that student potential is greatly diminished. I have found that whole-child education happens when a community of systems, supports, and involvement surrounds our work as teachers in a great learning school district.

I also believe improving instruction happens through job-embedded professional development, engaged mentoring/coaching, partner teaching, continuous improvement, well-voiced evaluation and accountability to meet collective goals, and data systems to illustrate great successes.

Fostering Education Through Community

To meet the needs of a 21st-century learning environment, we must provide a safe and bully-free environment, saturated with technology and the Arts, in conjunction with a strong academic focus, to build educational opportunities for students.

We accomplish this work by building a district of collaboration and communication, which leads to a system of trust and celebration of the successful district we are becoming. When we believe in each other, we excel as educators and more effectively create an outstanding environment for the next great generation of leaders.

Fostering Education Through Equal Opportunity

I believe that all students, regardless of socio-economic status, race, language acquisition, upbringing, or predisposition for learning should have an equal opportunity to learn and pursue their interests and passions.

I believe that we, as educators, have an obligation to find mechanisms through technology, the arts, student-grouping, co-teaching, and combining educational environments to meet the greatest spectrum of education for all students.
